While driving on the highway today the abs and srs lights came on, a few minutes later the speedometer quit, and it started running rough. When I put the signal lights on to change lanes it was as if I shut it off. Letting go of the signal light it ran smooth again. WE limped into our destination which is 150 miles from the nearest land rover dealer. When we went out to start it later. It just clicked like a bad solenoid or low battery, however the lights are still bright. It will be towed to a garage tomorrow but I would like an idea to what the problem is so they can be pointed in the right direction.
Thanks for any help
By the way we have only had it 3 weeks, looked and ran like it just came from the showroom.

have your battery and then alternator tested.
If the battery went, it will be a dead short, and the alt won't be able to keep up.
If the alt. went, the battery won't hold enough charge. You did not have enough voltage, that is why it died when you turned on your signal.
Start with the easy things, then look into wiring.

Just a thank you to all you guys who gave advice on our 98 discovery not starting etc. The previous owner had a new alternator installed and the shop mechanic who did it put the belts on wrong. He had them going over the top of the pulley so it was barely touching on it. When the alternator was under load the belt would slip and not charge the battery. The battery also needed replacing, runs like a top now. Total bill for new battery and having the belt put on right was only $207.00 which I thought was good.
Thanks again for the advice you guys were right on.
