Default Is a 99-02 RR engine swappable into '03 Disco?

Wondering if the 1999 - 2002 Range Rover 4.6 L is swappable into a 2003 Disco? Thanks for any help.

As long as the replacement engine has secondary air, there are only a couple things to switch over, one, if I remember right would be the flex plate.

The flex plate would be easy enough Assuming the holes line up with the crank bolts. According to their website, Roverland has an '02 RR 4.6 with SA, so I'm trying to figure out if that will work. I'll also contact the two gentlemen that you mentioned in my other thread that you responded to. Thx Mike.

Roverland Parts guy was saying that the oil pump is different on the RR motor. I tried to get him to explain what is different and why it would matter since, at least on the Disco, the pump is integral with the timing cover and as long as the RR has it's own pump that is also part of the front cover, it should matter if it's different (unless it rotates backwards or something and could'nt be used with a Disco serpentine system - to me, they look the same). We were talking via chat on their website, and he couldn't really explain it. Anyone have insight?

I second that. ; )

But honestly, the engines look identical to me.
