99 D2 Long Crank After Injector Replacement
Recently replaced the injectors on my 99 D2 and am now getting about 6 seconds of cranking before the engine fires up if the vehicle has sat for over an hour. I found no external leaks but am assuming the new injectors might be leaking as the engine previously fired up immediately. Once started it runs great with no engine codes. Planning on checking fuel pressures tomorrow but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with new injectors.
They're Chinese, so I wouldn't be shocked if they're defective. Originally was just replacing my injector seals as they were dry rotted but some of the pentile caps broke in the process so ordered these off amazon as they could get here the fastest.
It’s too bad that they broke. I don’t know if a shop that restores injectors can fix that. Getting the original injectors cleaned and tested costs twice as much as buying new Chinese ones, but I’m pretty sure it’s a better option. Maybe you can find a used set that you can have cleaned and tested?
If you just broke that plastic end thing that holds the seal on, you can get new ones here https://www.ebay.com/itm/190805297237 and re-use the old injectors.
