After that, install a 180F thermostat b/c even if the t-stat isn't the issue, this needs to be done anyway. There's other posts on how to check and see if your radiator is clogged by Savanahbuzz...something about taking temp readings at the top and bottom of the radiator, ensuring >10F difference. Checking the fan clutch is fairly easy if you have a basis for comparison. All these things are good preventative maintenance anyway, so you're not out the time/$ if it doesn't fix the issue.
10-4 . Thanks for all the feedback guys I'll look into it and post a reply when I have more findings. I've ordered the 180 tstat and will let y'all know.

I'm in Austin so if your ever stranded or need some help with those temps let me know. I replaced my Radiator and use the 180 Stat. My temps this past week never rose above 194. It will reach 200 in the heat of the summer in bumper to bumper traffic.

Thanks for the offer. This texas heat can really kill a car! I'm hoping to change the tstat and see where I stand. Savannah buzz had said he uses a fan from a Chevy blazer. Anybody use it on a disco2?

What bypass are you talking about?

And when off roading in the desert with ambient temps of 115 degrees my engine doesn't go above 200, And that's with the stock 190° thermostat

the 3rd hole in the stat. y is the bypass. and 200 is good. have you checked the spikes when the engine is shutdown for about 6-8 minutes? that is my concern. my high temp spikes are all from heat soak....after the engine has been shut off.
