Default '99 Disco II coolant leak....

Hello Everybody!

Here we go again: My '99 Disco started to loose coolant, lots of it!, last night while running I opened the hood and found out where the leak comes from.
It is from top of the engine, right where the white residue shows, seems like a gasket, don't know, please see picture attached since I don't know the mechanic's terminology to describe it.

The leaks comes out from the joint of above the 2 hoses only when the engine runs and coolant heats up.

any hints will be appreciated,

Thanks guys in advance!

BJ [8D]

Do your self a favor and remove the air intake hose first. Also, open the reservoir coolant tank to remove pressure from the coolant system, or you'll have coolant squirting all over the place when you remove the two small hoses.

Easiest thing you'll ever fix on your truck. It's definitely a crack a beer before starting the job, job, rather than a get the hard part done, then crack a beer, job.

I am unable to open the attached picture, but from the sound of it, it sounds like you are referring to the throttle body heater plate.

Make sure you add some fresh DexCool and do a complete coolant bleed or you will have overheat issues later.

You could just bypass the system altogether. I know some people look down upon this, but I have been running this way for a few years without any hiccups. All you have to do is just get a small piece of i believe 1/4' copper tubing, bend it into the shape of a "U", and then connect the two small hoses together with one another. It blocks out the throttle heater function (you don't really need unless you live in the extreme cold), however you never have to worry about the system leaking any coolant ever again. Do what you want, but that is definately the easiest fix.

Ohh and I love Bon Jovi
