All automatic transmissions have a pump for the trans fluid.

So I understand there are two sensors one on the cooler (radiator) and one on the drivers side of the tran case - I assume the one I change is the one on the tran case with the two wire connectors? Sorry to be a PIA - I don't have much transmission experience

Automatic transmissions work on hydraulic pressure. The "pump" is the torque converter (this is not Rover specific). Things with oil coolers just route some of the fluid outside of the trans through a cooler and back in again. No other pumps are required past what makes the transmission operate.
