This a great place to get questions answered so ask away (well, search first, then ask away). There is a “sticky” at the top of this forum called “high mileage maintenance” or something to that effect. Read it, make a checklist, and do it- especially the front driveshaft. Most of it is just fluid changes but there are some really good mods on there as well.

I used a lot of that checklist to ask the buyer about his maintenance - helpful. Downloaded Rave today as well.

Planning on having BritishCarService in LA give this a good once over after purchase just so I have a list of things to work on - seems like a smart move even if I’m going to be doing the actual work.

I was giving this a reread and you had mentioned that 99 specific trim pieces are harder to find than later years so I wanted to throw my 2 cent history lesson in on that for your reference. These trucks were introduced here in the 1999 model year where they were built and sold alongside the Disco 1's, so be careful when you are searching for parts and the like because there is a 1999 model year Discovery 1 and a 1999 model year Discovery 2. For 2000 the Disco 1 was discontinued. In 2002 the Disco 2 received a "facelift" in which several trim pieces were upgraded, most notably the front bumper and headlights (this is also when the engine was bumped from 4.0L to 4.6L). The facelifted models sold from 2002-2004 when production ended.

This is all to say that any 1999-2001 D2 model year trim piece will fit your truck and lots of the 2002-2004 ones will too, just not the front bumper, foglights, and facia parts so be sure to extend your search parameters when looking for parts.

That’s helpful - Theres a couple years of parts. I was looking for somewhere that shows which parts are compatible post facelift with the 99-01s. Do I just look up item no’s from Rave or is there a better resource for this info? It sounds like it’s just going to be the parts you mentioned.
