There was a guy on here last winter with the same issue as you, same problem, belt was routed wrong.
It DOES make a difference, to bad neither shop will admit that they are idiots.
I wouldnt be using either of them again.
And I would call the Better Buisness Buaure.

Despite the fact that I'm not a mechanic, it would seem logical to me that a belt which goes AROUND a pulley rather than just TOUCHINGthe pulley would have a different impact. The folks at Land Rover (except for the first tech that looked at it this morning) couldn't understand that concept.

Well now you know where to turn to first LOL.
Best of continued luck to you.

If you get the check engine light read at AutoZOne and write down the fault codes we can help you with that too.

If the belt is routed wrong then the tensioner is not able to put proper tension on the belt. If I can figure that one out any mechanic should be able to. Did you make sure the mechanics knew what a belt was?
I have to agree with Spike, time to find a new mechanic.
We generally recommend avoiding the dealer because they'll rip you off. Sounds like in your case the dealer mechanics are idiots as well as crooks.
Get your codes read and let us know so we can help you out with the new codes.

Will do. You guys are sensational on here! Last year I had that issue where the rear windows became unoperable, and after doing everything I could think of, I turned to this board. I was given instructions on removing the glove box and taking out the circuit board, as it most likely had a bad solder. I couldn't believe my eyes when it was EXACTLY as had been explained to me. Who would have EVER thought of that? Seriously, you guys are unbelievable!

Ran out to Autozone and the following two codes were returned when the "Check Engine" light was checked out:
P0130 - O2 Sensor
P0560 - System Voltage

The truck seems to be running perfectly. The light came on this morning on the way to the dealer, meaning BEFORE they re-routed the belt.
