Default About the iphone and OBDII BLUETOOTH

Ok either im missing something or you guys missed a bunch? I started a new thread because thefirst half was nothing but talk about why the iphone sucks and doesn't have any program that works with an obd Bluetooth that's less than 100$

One guy even bought an android just to use this.

I did one search in the App Store and easily found 7 apps 1 of which is 5$ the rest is free. There's 7 apps... What did I miss? What did y'all search for?

You need to take a closer look at the 7 "apps" you foound. One just tells you what codes obtained with another scanner mean, and the rest of the apps only work in with an expensive OBD dongle from the specific company. The only iPhone apps that work with a cheap bluetooth dongle have to be used with a jailbroken phone.

Simple solution is buy the ultra gauge or scan tool and save money and time.

All I wanted was to be able to read and clear codes and confirm the temps on my aftermarket analog temp gauge. Between the free software I installed on my laptop I've got everything I need for $12.59. It would be nice if I could use the dongle with a cheap app on my iPhone as well like Droid users can (like the $4.99 Torque app) but I don't need it. As for the wifi interfaces, I've read in the reviews that they don't allow for fast enough updates to work effectively with live data.

The problem I discovered is many of the cheap Bluetooth dongles do not work on the iPhone. Apple apparently blocked something in the code that doesn't allow many of these Bluetooth dongles to work.
