@Best4x4 I will say that is true of mine as well other than old vacuum hoses cracking and leaking and a caliper bolt dropping out causing 3 amigos I have never had a code. And I have been slowly replacing all those hoses and vacuum lines. And I would love to get hold of the guy who did the brake job before I got it and whack him one, in 45 years of driving that is the only time I have seen that

i spray some silicone lubricant and rust prevention stuff all over the inside of the engine bay. Hoses connectors electrical stuff all stay nice and lubricated Nothing drys out

#1 cause of hg failure is overheat. #1 cause of overheat in Disco is crappy factory thermostat design. Bought at least 5 trucks with stuck thermostats that were overheating, always run inline stat mod on mine. #2 cause of overheating is low coolant level due to broken/ cracked plastic or rubber cooling system component. They deteriorate with age and miles. Preventatively replace everything to get hg mileage like Best4x4. Rad, hoses,wp, bottle, all of it. Do the pcv mod and no oil leaks. Look up my pm list post.
