Post ABS error troubleshooting helps please?!

So,

I am in the middle of troubleshooting my ABS error(s) for the LHR sensor;
Signal erratic, Output signal too low, Electrical failure. I have changed the brakes and examined the sensor, ring, and connector. The sensor has the correct resistance, and it changes when close to a magnet. The ring looks reasonably clean, but there was some junk in there (from what i can see) and there is no play in the bearing whatsoever.

nonetheless, i swapped right and left sensors when changing brakes to rule out that issue, the error codes are still registering from the LHR.

I drove around a bit while glancing at live data as best as i could, and saw that both sensors were registering the same speed, so I think voltage is dropping off at some point.

what is a reasonable game plan at this point? I am trying to avoid throwing parts at the thing until I find what was actually wrong.

at this point I am going to try;
squirting grease between the little gaps in the ring to displace whatever may have been in there.

messing with the sensor plug, trying to get a better connection

figuring out how to trace the sensor cable to the computer (i imagine its with the harness under the carpeting

having a little cry.

Is there anything else I should try for this?

any help would really be appreciated

the wiring is old, at best. The original connectors are a known problem part. How about new sensor and wiring spliced into the existing wiring in front of connector, or all the way to ecu, to do it properly.

Default Wiring routing?

Sounds like a reasonable plan! Thanks for the help! What course does the wiring take? Does it go under the car or is it packed into the harness under the carpets or something?

Thanks again!

Before you spend more time and trouble, have you cleared the old ABS codes as they remain resident in the SLABS unless cleared with diag equipment.

I cleared out them codes, they just seem to be coming back after about half a block or so under random circumstances.

well, as far as I know- both. I'm wondering if you could splice, solder and heat shrink wrap somewhere along the underside forward of the wheel well. Disclaimer - NOT an electrical/electronic guy. I just did a similar thing with a front sensor. And have stayed at holiday Inn express...

So,

I bought a brand new hub and sensor and started the replacing process. When I removed the old hub I found that there was no play and it spun freely. After I replaced the hub, cleared the codes and went for a test drive, I found that the problem persisted.

only...

now under acceleration, (no brake pedal) the abs modulator starts pumping and intermittently grabbing one of the rear brakes. I can kinda get it to stop by adding more gas.

I have checked the continuity of the circuit between the SLABS ecu and the sensor plug, its good.

I am unsure what to try next as at this point the truck is more or less un-driveable. Does this sound like an ECU failure?
