Default abs modulator

So I have a new svs unit on the way and will be replacing it again after my last one failed after 6 months of abuse.

This time around I'll be doing the bypass mod an hopefully that will be the end of the electrical issues.

Question is over the phone a gent at Atlantic British said the top half of my modulator might need replacement saying the switches are wearing down and becoming loose. Any ideas or input on this?

Do you drive with one foot on the brake and one foot on the gas? Never heard this before. He could be trying to up sell you. Have you replaced your seals? When it has failed did you test the SVS like demonstrated in https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...s-fault-26847/

The only switches are the ones connected to the shuttle part SVS you are buying; the rest are 8 solenoids, no more switches.

If doing the bypass, you don't need to replace the valves. Just the switches. If your switches are bad, which they probably aren't if you've already replaced them.

The valve assembly comes with the part that the SVS switch plugs into, so if you didn't want to do the bypass, you could spend another $800 and replace that instead. http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/SWO500040.cfm

I'm getting an error code 114 from the amigo.

The shuttle valve switches are being replaced under warranty so I'm not concerned about that since it'll be apart anyways to do the bypass of that circuit board.

I replaced the seals (the small "O" rings) last time I swapped the switches out .

The system runs fine and everything works. The lights just pop up every other week and I don't want it to fail on the trail.

After you do the bypass (option B) I'll bet you'll be good to go. Personally I wouldn't do the trailer wiring harness. They are crap. I did that first, on my 2003, and had nothing but problems with it. I'd look at it funny and it would come back with the 114 code. On the next go around, my 1999, I just used a couple feet or so of wire and used a wire tap straight into the harness... no issues, and I had plenty of room and wire if I needed to change anything.

I'll give it a try once the switches come in (also upgrading to braided brake hoses) and if you sense a disturbance in the force that probably means I got angry and lit the disco on fire.
