Hi, I've got a 2000 D2 with approx 120,000 miles on it. ABS works, TC works and HD works. no fault codes coming up, no ABS lights (on ABS Amigo) but...my modulator is loud. When TC engages it sounds like an old sewing machine is under my hood. Is this a sign that something is about to go?
It was not this loud when I purchased the truck almost 2 yearas ago. It's only come up since last fall.

Not a huge issue since I have installed a CDL shifter but I just like to know whats going on with my truck.

 

Mine makes a lot of noise too when it engages. I do also get the 3 amigos randomly but only under really wet conditions. In slippery/snowy but dry I get nothing but rain/slush it comes on sometimes.

CDL wont keep 3 lights off (actually turns them on) and wont help you stop. Will only help you go!

Not sure if the noise is normal or not though.

 

Thanks, yes I know what CDL does, I meant that more for TC and offroading. What I was getting at was if they fail, i've still got CDL to climb around. not dependent on TC.
