Default ABS / TC and Downhill Lights

I was on my way home last night when all of a sudden the ABS / TC and Downhill lights on the dash came on.
I have been reading the threads here refered to as "The Three amigos", before I posted something. I am very confused reading everything. What causes these lights to come on, and what is the solution to fixing them. Do I have to take the truck to have them re-set. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rolando

there is a multitude of things that could set them off, ABS sensor, bad hub, shuttle valve failure. you really have to read the codes to find out which on is you problem. There are serveral differnt machines that can read the ABS codes for you. the machines run anywhere from 200.00 & up. There is someone on the site who rent out his machine, if you do a search it should come up.The lights will go on and off until you set a hard code then you will have to pay the dealer to clear the lights. Before you spend any money try to fix the lights you have to read the codes to find out the cause, or you will spend a lot of money guessing the cause.

Yes. But that is still 200 bucks.

Whatever you do, do not buy any of the Actrons at your local auto store. They advertise to scan ABS (model CP9580), but will not scan the Land Rovers.
