Default abs/tc/hill decent lights on

My abs/tc/hill decent lights came on the other day. I'm sure it was just luck that my front pads were ready for changing, since I changed them and the lights are still on. I also got a code 1590 01 tried to reset them but with no luck. I read on here you need a laptop code reader to get deep into the computer for reseting. I know with my old MB I could reset the codes by removing the battery cables and touching them together(always worked). Is there a simlar way to reset the abs/tc/HD lights? Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks in advance this is my first post Steve

Your problem is commenly reffered to as the three amigos. There are tons of posts about it. I would search the forum and read old posts. Someone posted an excellent shuttle valve replacement walkthrough recently, this might also be of intrest to you. Good luck!

So you don't waste alot of time, you can't clear the trio of lights your self. It will take a T4 Rover scanner or something equivalant to a Auto Logic scanner. Don't be surprised at what it will cost. Dealer charge the most, usually between $100 and $150 and they will not reset the lights till you fix the problem. Small shops usually charge less and in some cases if you ask them to clear the codes they will.

If there is in fact a problem, the lights will come right back on, if it was just a glitch they will stay off.

depends on what the codes are and what set them off. get the codes and it will tell you where to look if they come back on.
