Was the motor squeaking on low speeds or making funny noises before it quit all together??

If you can find the wires to the blower motor, put an OHM meter on them on X10 setting.
See if it is a dead short - it should be near 0 ohms.

If it is open - then the motor is dead.
Probably a brush fell out or was used up down to nothing and fell out.

Default Driver's side is cool, passenger isn't

2004 Discovery 11 just completed head gasket repair and now I'm starting to get to know this car.

Any thoughts what could be reason one side of A/C blows cold? Blower works fine, but only cold air on driver, passenger is warm air.

down load the manual and look at section 80 , because you have two indepentent temperture setting you have two independent sets of dampers. one of them being called the blend door some companys refer to it as a mixed air damper.

Do you have to take the dash apart to get to it? Again its only weak on the passenger side.
