Default AC Blowing really weak

Hey guys- I have an 01 Disco that has the ac blowing really weak. It is cool, but there is really not much power behind it. Could this be a blower motor? Compressor? It seems like over the past week the ac would suddenly cut off or lose power but the control panel was still illuminated. Then it came back on.

Any Ideas on this?

Thank you as always!

Sounds like the brushes in the blower are worn out. At least, this is where i would start. If it blows then slows down, picks up again, stops completely, then this is prob the issue.

Detailed walk through can be found....

Lots of online sources for new.

If its staying cold, but will blow air normally for awhile, then stop blowing for awhile, but still cold at the vent, then start blowing again, then stop. It would likely be the interior fuseblock that holds all the fuses. It tends to go bad just for the blower fuses only (6 &7(front and rear blower, if equipped)). The solder inside the block apparently cracks, then overheats (insufficient amount of solder for the amount of amps) and cuts power. When it cools, 12 volt returns, then cycle repeats. Without a load, it will read 12v at the fuse. Eventually, the solder completely cracks and no more power. A new fuseblock, or an inline bypass of fuses 6 & 7 will fix the problem. Be aware that another potential problem is a bad resistor pack for fan speed control. Just run fan at wide open speed. If it works then check resistor pack, as the pack doesn't control wide open. If wide open doesn't work, look at fuseblock. Search for "a blower problem fixed".

I'd like to piggyback on this post and ask why my AC blows colder on the driver's side than the passenger's? Any ideas?

For one vent better than another, physically check them at the blower (under passenger side dash). Less likely to be knocked loose, but possible, I guess. Probably trash (leaves) in the blower (not uncommon). Some may be in one vent.

Well it is not blowing at all. When I turn the key over, I press the power button and turn the fan on high and only hear a light whirring noise. The blower I got from Auto Zone is NOT the correct one, and I believe it is getting juice to it. I checked the fuses and they are good. Anything else I can check besides the blower? On the 01 Disco 2, the blower is under the footpanel of the passenger side front floorboard under the glove box, correct? THANK YOU AGAIN!

Apply direct 12v to blower to see if it's bad. Replace if bad.

If it works, then probably fuseblock, either interior or under the hood (more likely interior). With power on, test the brown and pink wire leaving the under hood fuseblock. It is specifically to the blowers via the back of the interior fuseblock to interior fuses. Power to that part of the underhood fuseblock is through fuselink (heavy fuses with screws) number 4. If you have power leaving the underhood fuseblock, then likely the interior fuseblock. I had a bad underhood fuseblock, no power out, but that is less common.

X1 ............ try a manual self test, press auto and air distribution simultaneously whilst turning on the ignition key to position 2 and after a short time any codes present will appear on the RHS of the display, mine showed 21 and 22 which is a fault in the solar sensor in the center of the dash near the windscreen. The self test and A/C fault codes are on page 82-21 of RAVE.

Palmetto Disco- I am not sure how to locate or even do any of that. Is there a write up somewhere on here? I tried the search but did not see one. I am truly appreciative of everyone's help!
