Default AC compressor?

03 D2- It looks like my friends daughters AC compressor is not engaging. The compressor was not running and a cheap AC gauge said the pressure was "warning level" high.

Any tips to get the compressor clutch to engage? I can't add any gas because the cheesy refill I bought at the auto parts store will only get sucked in if the compressor is running.

Lastly, if the compressor is bad, does a D1 compressor fit on a D2?

Thanks in advance.

have you checker ECON on the heater control that kills power to the compressor.
if the compressor is not kicking it, your gauge pressures are NA.

I would make sure the condenser fan is workin as it should if its frozen it might be the reason the PO pulled the relay to prevent the truck from over heating

Thanks pkppunk, it's a spinnin'.

PO was a kid who on one hand paid a lot of money to have the car maintenanced/repaired, but on the other did some **** poor repairs/upgrades.

DI and DII compressors are, more or less, the same. There was a change in the style of the connector some time during the DII's run but I can't remember when.

Strange. Maybe he used it to replace another relay that had failed?
