Yes, I have 12v at the connector to the fan. I am concerned about the known defect...I've read about that. I'll probably take it in to have the AC checked and if all looks good, I might try to replace the interior fuse box.
You have 12v at the fan connector, but the fan does not spin? Have you tested the fan? Sounds like the connector or fan is bad. Maybe test the voltage at the connector with it connected to the fan?

Or third potential problem is a bad ground circuit. If the fan spins with power and ground jumpered, then could be a bad ground connection (loose, broken, or corroded).
YES! I have 12v at the connector but it does not spin. When I hook up the fan directly to the battery it spins just fine. I bought a new fan, just in case, but neither works when installed.
Had the same symptoms this past summer. It showed 12V at the fan but the fan wouldn't run. I left the lead from the multimeter connected to the fan wire while the fan was still connected, but then it wouldn't show 12V. The load of the fan would heat the bad solder joint in the fusebox and disconnect it. Remove the fan and it would show 12V again. I took the fuse box out and apart, found the bad joint at the arrow on the photo and added a little solder and reheated the joint and it's been fine since. I did have to buy a better soldering iron that I could get into the tight space, but not expensive off amazon.

I’ll give this a try…sounds promising!! I’m at my wits end with this issue.
One of my other trucks just had the same problem. On initial check it looked ok, but on closer magnified view, there was a crack in the solder. Same spot as the other one.
I finally threw in the towel and took it to a local mechanic. He had it pegged in no time. Replaced the interior fuse panel and everything works just fine now.
I can’t believe I waited so long to do that.
I hope someone finds this thread and heads straight to the bottom…just go ahead and replace the fuse panel 🤣
