For some reason I was under the impression that the 3 needed to be replaced as a matched set. Which are the units that need to be matched?

You do need to resync the new interior fuse box to the BCU but you only need to leave the ignition in the on position for about 15 minutes to do that.

To be clear, I believe it's the IDM that needs to sync with the BCU. Since I have no clue what that mysterious component is actually made of I thought I'd throw it out there to see what came back.

The IDM is an integral component of the interior fusebox.
