Heck, all those new parts all of a sudden you'll have lots of new friends and guess what ......................... they'll all be D2 owners

Sorry to hear that. Sucks.
I hope you end up with another one, otherwise we'll miss you around here.

Don't worry buddy, $hit happens - I was in almost the same boat a while ago and while it took me over a year to get her back on the road, I'm SO HAPPY I DID!!!!! Every day in the disco is worth 10 before the crash ironically. Plus I did the facelift - although ironically I wish I hadn't, since now everyone thinks it's 5 years newer than it actually is (which sounds like a good thing, but kills your credit for actually owning a clean 16yo vehicle! lol)

This outlines my story and what I decided to do (essentially.. it was totaled, I bought it back for 1/4 what they paid me.. fixed it for another 1/4... but did it all myself - lots of blood sweat and tears but also a good time to do some maintenance and upgrades!) - https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-many-s-51664/

Oh many i just read this part, I'm so sorry to hear this - I thought the EXACT SAME THING about my car, it was just a damn beater and I figured anything I'd fix would be cheaper than full coverage.

Then I talked to my insurance agent when I added the RR sport at the time, and she said w/ the multi car discount adding full coverage to the disco would only be like $14 a month or something.. so I did it. Literally 3 or so months before I totaled mine!!!! For the $850 they wanted to buy it back, I might have still done it, but I wouldn't have had the money to repair it entirely for a very long time.

Yeah, I'm still kicking myself in the A** for not having collision.

The frame is bent on mine, so not sure it's worth fixing, or just keep my eyes out for another...time shall tell!
