Default Mom's Disco 2 accident with toyota.

Well My moms Discovery 2 is in the shop after a unfortunate accident with a Land Cruiser. I saw it unfold from my discovery A stupid *** in a ford focus jumps right in front of my mother causing her to press hard on her brakes. Then a land cruiser Fj80 runs right into the back of my moms rover. Due to the discovery's extremely solid construction she didn't suffer any injuries just a fast heart beat and furious rage. Her disco wasn't as bad as she thought The disco only suffer a broken spare alloy wheel her backdoor window was crushed and her left side back light was broken plus a large bumper dent. The Fj80 bumper was smashed in his toyota grill was cracked The hood of the Cruiser was bent backwards the left fender was also dented and both headlights were broken. My mom was getting ready to kill the man luckly I was there to stop the about to be fight. The guy was very scared and apologectic. I gotta say this FOR THOSE WHO THINK THE LAND CRUISER IS "SOOOOOOOOOOO TOUGH" THAT'S JUST UTTER BULL**** CAUSE IF IT WAS IT WOULDN'T OF LOOK THE WAY IT DID AFTER HITTING A ROVER. THE FRAME AND BODYSHELL OF A ROVER IS VIRTUALLY. UNBREAKABLE IM JUST GLAD SHE WASN'T IN A SMALL CAR LIKE A MIATA OR SOMETHING OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. The damage price to moms discovery was about 6K including parts and labor luckly moms is a doctor so money isn't a prob I think she could have gotten a better deal due to the fact the disco wasn't really severly damaged. The dude with the toyota his insurance was extremely high because he rear ended the rover. I talked mom into getting a after market bumper for the discovery which is a stock discovery so which one would be best and offer good solid protection without being to heavy.

Need feedback.[8D]

I would stick with a standard rear bumper, the reason is that if you get something to solid, it will transmit any crash forces into the chassis, so the bumper would be fine while your chassis is twisted. The bumper is there to be sacrificed, as it is easier to replace.

That is my view.

luckily she wasn't hurt and the guy in the LC wasn't killed.

Why would her being a doctor matter about the money since he hit her truck? His insurance will have to pay anyway.

I guess I said that with mom being a doctor is that I knew that the prices was going to be high but your right the guy in the Toyota ended up paying for everything that sucks cause it wasn't really his fault but automatically one is wrong when they hit the back of another vehicle. I will tell mom to stick with the standard bumper as it was manufactured to work best with the vehicle.

Thanks .
