I bought the part through rovers north and am now waiting on its arrival. I spoke with a tech and they said I wouldn't need to bleed the system; only leave the reservoir cap off when I fill it and let the system get rid of the air. I'll update with pictures.

So I was able to replace the hydraulic ram. The numbers are the sequence that I followed to remove the whole assembly. I had no issue bleeding the system since it pretty much didn't have any fluid left HA!

There are two washers with gaskets on 4 and 5 that need to be replaced. Number 6 was the real pain. It took everything a buddy and I had to break it free. Of course his old man came out, laughed at us and did it in no time. There's a bushing that #6 runs through that has gaskets on it. They're extremely worn. I spoke with Land Rover and the part is $300. So it's not being replaced as it's not critical to the function. The gaskets as far as I can tell are a buffer to reduce wear. The bushing on the diagram is #9.

Overall it was a pretty easy fix and only took a few hours with a lunch break.

There is still a leak from those washers, so once the reservoir is dumped again I'll replace them. Then if there's another major issue with the ace, I'll either remove the system or get into something newer.

Those look like standard/normal crush rings to me, should be able to take em to an auto parts store and match them up.
