Hi, new here and love this forum already.
Hopefully i can find much help here as I'm new to disco's also. So my 2002 disco i just bought had the coil conversion done but ever since the ACE amber light has been illuminated.
I'VE just got this vehicle and it's always been like that so i don't know what the ride quality should be like or if ace isnt working. Any help appreciated.

If the amber warning light is on it's detecting a fault of some kind. First make sure you've got plenty of fluid in your reservoir, second since you bought it used make sure ACE is even still installed on the vehicle. You'll have a massive pump mounted next to the AC compressor, and a valve block mounted to the frame on the passenger side.

If all of that checks out, you "could" have an unplugged yaw sensor on the body (mounted on the body not to far from the valve block). I've seen them look plugged in & I've seen them unplugged before. You also have another yaw sensor up above the front sunroof switches mounted to the roof. There is also a pressure switch mounted on the valve block that can fail.

ACE faults are not permanent faults if the problem is corrected upon a new key cycle the fault will clear.

A working ACE system is awesome, but repairing one can be costly with the pump, valve block, sensors, and the front/rear rams.

You'll just have to see what you've got and go from there. Good news though you can convert an ACE D2 to a Non ACE setup if you just grab the F/R sway bars from a junk yard. I'm not 100% sure on the ACE light, but maybe removing all the relays, ECU for ACE will kill the light as well.

 

Thanks, i will check tomorrow to see if it was taken out when I'm out putting in a new fuel pump. i tried reading the codes but for some reason my scan tool couldn't read it.

 

ACE faults won't show up on an OBDII reader. It has to be a T4, or LR unit able to read specific fault codes in thru the ACE ECU.
