ACE Pump whirring noise?
Hey everyone. '00 Discovery 2, 301K miles. Daily driver.
I replaced the original ACE pump with OEM from Parts Geek, pump was a "LUK" from Bulgaria. Good price, fast service. Seems to be the same pump that is available from suppliers in the UK. I replaced the original pump as it was getting noisier and noisier, the sound I isolated with a stethoscope. I had my Indy mechanic check it and he said the same thing, ACE pump is getting really noisy.
Anyway, just finished changing out the pump, followed the RAVE, no big deal, had new banjo seals and replaced the suction hose from the reservoir with a new one from AB. Primed the pump as per RAVE, hooked up ready to go. Started it up (engine was cold from sitting overnight), "whirring" noise is much better, but still there.
So my question is, how much sound does the ACE pump make? None? a bit?
Any thoughts or ideas out there would be appreciated. Parts Geek said if the pump is defective, they'll replace it, but I'm not sure what "normal" is supposed to be.
Thanks as always!!

It should make a little bit of noise. Not a constant whining or humming. Something is up if it's making lots of noise.
I can tell an ACE disco when it's idling from the motor noise (and the little purge relief valve noise that clears itself every minute or so on ACE cars).... they sound slightly different than a non-ACE car.
