I installed these on the ashtray. I wired them so they come on when the accessory is on.

ok, so for those of us not so electrically inclined, could someone walk us through an install of sockets like these? would be really helpful- thanks!

 

Simplest way will be to look for the positive and negative leads to the existing cigarette lighter and fee your new outlet from there. Disconnect the negative side of the battery to avoid problems and run a splitter to a 10/15 amp fuse holder(I know this is already fused but can't never be too safe), from there run a wire long enough that you will be able to run 2 positives to the new outlets and run 2 negatives without the fuse holder. I like to solder and shrink wrap but I guess you can use crimp terminals, will be doing it once I get them and will post pictures if anyone is interested and I will run of a rely

 

This is all good...but what are you running a relay for? Nothing you can run from a lighter socket will have enough current draw to validate a relay. Relay is for big stuff like driving lights
