Default Adding charging port and aux input to center console!

Hey all!

While doing the CDL addition, I took apart a lot of the interior and took care of a laundry list of todo items. One of them was adding an aux cable and power socket to the truck somehow. I settled on the Grom Audio thing that was literally plug and play. I hid the Grom box in the little void where some Discos have a pop out cupholder, just below the climate control. Fits perfectly. And then ran a 4-foot aux cable from there, down the length of the center console, and popped it up through the bottom of the storage box.

I made a little box thing that fits into the center storage box and also added a charging socket from a grey-interior-ed disco, splicing into the socket up front and running the wires in through the same hole as the aux cable. Lights up and works great!

If anyone is curious or wants to make one, the bevel of the box (it tapers in from top to bottom) is 4 degrees.

there's a grom that just adds an aux port to the stock head unit.

Yep, this. I’ve never had a great experience with non OEM Bluetooth setups. Better sound quality going analog in this instance.
