Can a jump seat be added to a 1997 Discovery? If so, what is all involved?

Yes they can be added pretty easy to a DI, IF you can find them.
Bolt the seatbelt to the floor, bolt the seat to the floor, done.

If you have never seen the jump seats in a DI they fold into the cargo pockets and face sideways not towards the front.

 

They're actually worthless, in my opinion, I wouldn't use them on a trip, certainly.

I've got them, they're like new, if that tells you anything.

They are handy with kids and short people. My nephews love riding to dinner in my truck...
