Default Adding a lot of Anti-Freeze

I've had my Discov 2003 for a year and it has less than 50K miles. I noticed the gage for the water in the red and the warning light on about a month ago. When I turned off the engine the fan continued to run and the engine cooled. I checked and it was out of anti-freeze. I added anti freeze and it ran fine. I checked it last week and it was out of anti-freeze again. I added more and it has not ran hot since. I checked for leaks and there are no visible leaks

Hi Discochick
DO NOT OVERHEAT your LR. It may cost you your engine ( alot of bucks ). If you haven't checked your radiator in a while, it may have lost a fair amount over a long period. May I suggest getting it pressure tested to see if it holds the pressure. No visible leaks is not the same as no leak. It may be leaking into the cylinders. Only by pressure testing will you be able to tell if your cooling system is intact. Please check and come back here. There is plenty of help here.

Is your LR still under warranty? If so take it to them.

No more driving that truck till you can get it into a shop. There is already a chance that you have dropped a cylinder sleeve, if you have the engine can't be repaired.
For your engine to go into the red and have the warning light come on is not good at all.
03"s are known for engines failing do to oil pressure issues and locking up the engine so deal with this tomorrow.
