Adding a Winch on Stock Springs
I found a 12k winch that I like for my D2 for a good price. I can probably fab something up as a mount. My only concern is adding the extra weight. The winch weighs 86lbs. Will the front end sag? Do I need stiffer springs? I am not a fan of lifting the truck so that is not an option for me. Thanks.

Which bumper do you have?
So, not steel. I'm curious how you mount a winch on plastic. What does it mount onto?
My guess is a plastic bumper and a winch, you don't need HD springs. Could be suck it and see, or get MD.

). Bumper is plastic. I saw the winch mounted to the chassis through inside the bumper on discovery2.co.ukHere is a link: www.discovery2.co.uk / T-Max Winch
I know they came with plastic ones too, but my A-frame IS steel (I know because I had to repaint it because it was rusty

Shoot an email to Erik at Lucky 8. Or wait for him to swing by here. Might be that you are just fine as you are.
Cool. Commenting on your springs question, as you don't have a steel bumper you may not need such excessive springs. Steel A frame won't be a huge weight in comparison.

If you don't want to lift then just go with light OME springs I'd say. Most OME comes to about 1.5" if you get the correct weight for lift, but going a weight lower should stick you back around stock. Alternatively, figure out how much it lowers the front and just throw a coil spacer under the front for the height difference.
