I think Buzz understood that I meant no claim of superiority with that comment.

I was just trying to convey to the OP that I read dozens of head gasket threads before and after successfully completing my own job, and never came across such a series of unfortunate strokes of luck

I did my Discovery 2 head gaskets in a parking lot with no power at all.

To get around the no power issue - I bought an inverter (400 W)
and I had a spare car battery that I charged every day and bought the charged battery to the Discovery at night to do my work.

Took two weeks and long nights and weekends too.
I was slow at it.
