Default After gasket repair, getting misfire codes

(see previous posts for background)

Just bought code reader. Codes are 0300, 0301, 0306

I'm going to go ahead and change out spark plugs and wires and hope that fixes it.

If anyone else has any suggestions, please chime in. I MUST drive this truck to work tomorrow :-(

With every step of this project, I get crushed a little bit more.

I must get my truck to work tomorrow. I must get to work tomorrow.

I just started changing the plugs and wires in the hopes that it will fix my misfire codes. I got out #1 with a ton of trouble, it's rusty as heck. Followed wire #1 to the back side of a very tiny area I can barely see, or squeeze my hand into, and I'm little! I'm sitting on my engine to do this and reach and see.

Am I missing something, or is it really this hard? Any "tricks" to doing this I don't know about???

Replacing the wires is a real pain! Last time I did it I had to go stab a few people in the eyes just to feel better! Good luck!

The saga continues!

Took me the better part of the day to replace my plugs (E3-48) and wires (Kingstone 8mm), I am now having another issue!

My truck won't start. And when I try to start it, my hazards come on and stay on.

Anyone have any ideas? I've already screamed, and broke down 10 minutes ago added crying and throwing a full out tantrum...but that did no good. I have no truck, a rental due back at 7:30am, and a job to be at that I missed 2 days from last week because of "car troubles".

I need to get back on the road. Anyone have any ideas, advice? I'm getting totally frustrated, and very desperate!

I purchased a code reader this morning for my last issue. When I tried to read it just now, it just keeps saying "error".

You probably hit the inertia switch by mistake when you were trying to reach the coil. It is on the passenger side firewall. Push it in and see if you can start.

See attached for what it looks like.

Thank you! I saw that when I googled it - came back to forums and someone else with same problem and it was inertia switch! I'm exhausted, my alarm in going off in less then 5 hours, but it's everything I can do to try and stay in bed, get some much needed rest....and keep my fingers crossed that when I run out there at 6am, that's exactly what it is.

I'll keep you posted.

So grateful to everyone here who baby-stepped me through these past two harrowing weeks. I want to love my truck again.... But she sure is making work hard for that love!

6:15am, I press inertia switch. Start car - and it starts!

No engine light, sounds smooth!

Not a moment to spare!

Project COMPLETE!

Thanks to everyone!

Wow Marni, I'm impressed, and sorry about all the headaches you've encountered. From not knowing what a spark plug is for, to doing this job, you've done it!

Hopefully next time, you won't be under such a time constraint when you do your next project. And, again, sorry I was not closer to help. I'm no pro, but an extra pair of hands and eyes sometimes makes a difference.

I'm sure your neighbors enjoyed the Jig this morning...

Check for codes again.
Scan it.
See if any pending codes.
Glad you are off and running.

Checking for pending codes will take bravery but if that is clear, then nothing is coming to haunt you later.
