The pump only runs for 1-2min and all I can say is I don't have a pump dangling by 1 or 2 broken rubber mounts causing damage to the $$$ hose which connects to it. I start up the 04 I hear the jet noise for 1-2min which isn't that much louder vs rubber mounts, and I'm done. I've owned 3 D2's with SAI, and they had killed those OEM rubber mounts quickly here in TX. I got tired of it and went to bolts, no more dangling pumps, broken $$$ hoses, just a little more vibration/noise for 1-2min.

My pump isn't in bad shape so vibrations = very minimal to begin with. The amount of noise and vibration will depend on your pump. I personally avoid SAI D2's and out of all the D2's I've owned 3 had SAI and I only have 1 with SAI currently.

 

What determined if a DII originally had SAI? The state it was sold in?

 

99-02 were only SAI if sold in a state like CA for example. Some 03's were non SAI (Late 02 production/early 03) however most 03-04 4.6L were all SAI.

 

Gocha. The 02 I picked up has very minimal rust, but also has SAI (Carfax says it's from California). Gotta take the good with the bad I guess...
