Default air bags

Hello everyone, new to forums, I wanted to get a few oppinions on whether or not I should replace air bags on my 2001 disco SE7 or should I go with the change over to struts? The bags went out at 57 thousand miles.

Personally I would dump the SLS and switch to coils and never look back, the SLS is a trouble prone system on these trucks and it only gets worse with age.
Anything from the air bags to the compressor to the height sensors to the air lines in between can all give you fits.

If you change them and keep the SLS ( highly recommended) then you would most likely get another 50,000 out of a set. Not a huge expense every 50k imo....

Yes the system "can" be problematic, but its easy and not really that expensive to fix. Most are just "scared" of it....Continual problems ie compressor faliure etc is normally down to the owner not fixing the leaks in the first place so the compressor gets over worked trying to "keep up" with the leaks and dies

Fitting coils is not the be all and end all, as even those sag heavily with time. Choice is yours, but keep the SLS imo.

Im pretty sure overtime you will spend far more on messing with the engine (leads / plugs / headgaskets etc etc) than you do on the SLS

Go buy a replacement set from Arnott Industries, better the factory bags, lifetime warranty and much stronger.
By the way, how do you know yours have failed?
