Air box lid 03 vs 99-02 willing to swap lids
Long story but went to replace my lid on the 04 with one I purchased with good clips but didn't fit. Is the 03 04 the one with the the larger or smaller opening?
03-04 = Larger
I personally run 99-02 intake hoses, MAF bodies on all my 04's. Slightly stronger and don't break as easy vs the 03-04 setup.
People will argue you MUST use the 03-04 setup with the 4.6L, but all that air going thru maybe a 1/4 inch wider intake tube/maf housing still goes thru the same exact sized throttle body as the 4.0L.... So the larger intake tube/maf housing do absolutely nothing.

So if the intake side of the MAF is a different size how is the Bosch maf part number valid 99-04…?
I have an almost brand new 02 setup if you want. Been thinking of putting it up on sale:
1. Lid
2. MAF housing (modified with the screws so that you can take the sensor out)
3. MAF-to-throttle body tube
Long story short: Wanted to convert my '04 setup to '02. Bought all brand new parts but my fuel trims did not like it. Went back to the '04 setup. I also have the MAF sensor, but not sure if it functions well. Can be yours. PM me.
