Default Air box/MAF O Ring

Just order a new O ring for my 04 D2. The LR Part #is PHN100200. Supposedly is goes for D2's from 99 to 04 but it is too small for my D2 air box. It sits in the channel, but is much looser that original one. I have checked with many places including two dealers and everyone says this is the part. MAF diameters changed when they went to the 4.6 engine.
Any body care to speculate on WTF is going on here?

Looks like you ordered an O-ring for the early DII (99-02). Its smaller in diameter compared to the later year DII (03-04).

but on second thought. If you look at the application description on AB's site it states, DII (99-02) but also lists the P38 4.0L and the 4.6L. That's weird because The 4.6L uses the (03-04) MAF.

I had a long talk with Doug at AB after I posted this. What I said and what he saw really bothered him as well. He thinks that there is an error in the micro-cat. The micro-cat is what everyone uses ( AB, RVRNORTH, BPU).
We think that the part that will fit is this one:
Mass Air Flow Sensor O-Ring (BOSCH Injection) (Genuine Part # PHN100220 ) - Land Rover gaskets and seals from Atlantic British

It is designated for the RR 4.6 99-02. Doug pulled one and compared and he thinks that this is correct. He did not have an '04 D2 to check it with. As soon as I get it I will post the results. BTW I am replacing this int he hopes it will kill the occasional 1171, 1174 codes. I replace the O2s and throttle body gasket, and heater plate, and MAF. Basically anything I could get to quickly. Just don't have time to pull IM off and go at the injectors.

Thanks for the info matt3502. I don't have that o-ring on my 2001 Disco. Now I know. Cheers!

To close this thread out, Doug at AB was absolutely correct. The micro cat that all parts guys use is wrong. If your MAF O ring is worn or loose on your D2 03-04 4.6 engine you need this one:
Mass Air Flow Sensor O-Ring (BOSCH Injection) (Genuine Part # PHN100220 ) - Land Rover gaskets and seals from Atlantic British
