Default Air Filter Intake...thing?

I couldn't seem to find my answer to these 2 questions using google site search or in RAVE so...

1) What is this piece called (pictured) that connects the air filter box to the left side of the chassis?

2) If the piece came loose from the air filter box, could that throw the codes P1171 and P1174? (from maybe screwing with the air throughput?)

Thanks for the help!

It's just a flexible hose that brings in colder air from outside. It won't cause any codes.

I believe those are 02 codes. They won't be triggered by any air filter intake hose.

While you have your hands on it though, you may want to reinforce it with some heavy duct tape or gorilla tape or something of that sort. It can dry rot and crack.

Yeah that duct tape seems like a good idea. That piece already feels pretty flimsy.

According to this thread, most people with those codes have a vacuum leak somewhere, so I'm gonna smoke test it before I go the MAF/O2 route.

Thanks again!
