Air spring catastrophic failure
Wow, this is interesting. So few people run the air system any longer it’s harder to find expertise. I studied the air system in detail in the RAVE and am pretty familiar with it and confident I could sort out anything that comes up based on its overarching simplicity (which is another reason I stay a D2 nut; they have what is really some pretty decent tech, but it’s implementation makes it to where the average shade tree mechanic can sort it out).
Anyway, you guys will really laugh at me, but I’ve had exceptional luck with Amazon bags. I’ve done them in more than one D2 at this point and they have held in all conditions, towing, healthy tongue weights, etc.
When I initially responded to this thread it was shortly after I’d bought my Alveston and was still in the throws of getting it DD ready. Again, I did a TF spacer lift and needed a single bag due to this from time to time:

As many know, I’ve been in Euroville for the last year and a half (returning soon) and I came back a few months ago to get the house ready for the next renters and pulled the Alveston out of storage. This is what I came back to after it sat for about 6 months:

Fired right up, aired right up, and I used it as a tow pig the entire time back in the States.
This was right before I left for Euroville and put it in storage:

The trailers are canted up so much because the movers packed all my hitches before I could grab them.
But after I fired it and pulled it out, it stayed up and was perfect.

The point of my coffee induced morning babbling is I’d have plenty of faith in the Amazonia cheapo ones. I keep a couple as spares just in case, but knock on wood have never needed them.
