Default Air Suspension to Coil Conversion / Wheel size Questions.

I have a 04’ D2 HSE that I purchased a few weeks ago. I have searched this forum and found answers to MANY of my questions as an new D2 owner. I have 2 questions pertaining to my next mod;

#1. I plan on adding a 2” Terrafirma Lift kit, from Lucky 8, and converting my Air Suspension over to Coil.
- Is this the right move?
- Any problems doing this?
- What is to removing the air suspension?
- I have seen where someone had to have there vehicle re-programmed because they removed the air suspension. Will I also have to do this?

#2. I plan on replacing the stock 18” wheels with 16” Vision 168 AutoBahn Wheels. I will be raping these now wheels with Cooper Discovery AT3 265/75/16.

- My main question is will these rims fit without having to replace the calibers or brake rotors?

I greatly appreciate any help!

Donnie

They'll fit without issue.

The only issue will be an error light coming on I believe. I've also heard of a way to fool the system, but I don't know what it is.

It can also drain your battery if you leave the compressor connected.

if you are in CA I can turn it off.

If your air suspension is still working without any issues you could just get a couple of 2" spacers for the rear air springs from Toddco along with the new front springs. I also like the look of the 04 HSE 18" wheels the best so you could just keep them and get some larger 18" tires.

A few of my buddies removed the air suspension and replaced with coils. I lent my Nanocom to them. Just did the latest unit a couple of weeks ago. It was a quick programming change on the Nanocom to change the air suspension setting from ON to OFF. You can direct the Nanocom to "write" (upload) the new setting to the ECU/BCU. Re-start the engine and the air suspension error light disappeared.

I've been looking for that since I got my D2 since the previous owner did the coil conversion.

So what I'm gathering is if I replace the air suspension with coils, i will have some error lights on my dash, but nothing that will cause the vehicle to not operate?(given that I disconnect the air compressor so it does not continue to run and pull down the battery)?
