Default air suspension ECU

My disco is in the shop and they tell me I have a faulty ECU for the air suspension,
they hook up their auto-logic computer to the car and everything works fine, pump, bags inflate etc, when the computer is taken off the car, the rear end goes back down.
they want to charge me and arm and a leg for this ECU unit, can i put a used one on?, if so where is this unit located and do I have to have it hooked to the auto-logic computer again?
My question is, can I put this unit on myself or doe the shop need to do this??/

any advise is grateful!!!

Thanks
Ralph

Default air pump

Hello Mike,

as per our conversation, I pulled the positive lead off the battery, waited 20 seconds, replaced the lead, closed all the doors, started the truck, did not lift, and the light on the dash ( rear end of disco with arrows pointing up and down) is now blinking.
what should I do next?

Thanks
Ralph

its probably a fair bet something isn't telling the vehicle to stay up. If the ecu was bad it would be sending a signal to valve body to let the air out of the rear. If it were me, I would get the vehicle up and then disconnect the connector on the valve body to see if it falls or not. if it does, the ecu isn't the problem.

of course you can always just put in coils and get it overwith.

A quick note for anyone else who might review this thread. Make sure you check the 30 amp fuse link in the fuse box under the hood. The owner's manual doesn't call this out, but the RAVE manual does. That was the issue with mine and it was a $4 fix. It's the FL in the middle of the row of links, and although the part at Advance Auto wasn't identical, it does work.

this one?

This reset process is in the owners manual and Rave CD.

with the key in the ignition and front door closed

open drivers door

pull key out of ignition and wait (count to 10)

then put key back

close drivers door

restart car,

Worked for me one morning, no probs since

Cheers
