Altered Crankshaft Sensor

Update!!
So I pulled apart the hacked wiring and re-spliced. Before that I tested wires with ohm meter and found interference from the ground. It made a connection but it wasn't 12v.
It freaking ran. It smoked like a beast at first but it ran, once it cleared all the gunk from the misfires it ran clean and revved good and strong. That was it.
Now just need to figure out the dash cluster...and prob multiple other problems as i havent taken it for a road test yet. Another thread prob. Thanks for the support tho!!

Now I'm dealing with a massive oil leak. May have blown seals since this truck sat for a bit. Only leaks under compression, but dumps a lot, at least half quart on the ground after 10 min running. Going to create a new thread for guidance. I'm not an expert mechanic, but been working with Rovers for a few years... surely can use help

Back to the original problem
I checked the the pcv, not coming from there I don't think BECAUSE Im back to square 1. I can't start it again, backfired so badly it blew the muffler wide open. I soldered the shielded wires to the hacked connection and wrapped them properly. It's funny, seems like you BUMP THIS THING WRONG AND THINGS HAPPEN. LIKE THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON BRIEFLY ON A FEW EPISODES. Retracing my steps, when I fixed the splice, I also blew air into the engine comp fuse box, after testing all fuses, some of the connections looked a tad corroded. That was right before it started without misfiring. I even drove it around the block. It ran good (except for the oil leak).
Also traced the oil leak by looking into the transmission peephole. Theres oil in there, but its just puddled on the bottom. Im thinking maybe the valley seal from the lower intake? It reached the coil pack and can visibly see oil sprayed on the firewall way up top behind the plenum. Front end looks good.
