Alternator Question
After doing some more testing in search of my parasitic battery drain, I'm pretty sure that my alternator is the cause and I have a couple of questions.
I put my multimeter between the alternator connection on the fuse block and the charging lead from the alternator, and it showed a 130ma drain; this is with the alternator mounted. When I remove the alternator from it's mount the multimeter shows no drain.
Am I correct in my understanding that there should be no drain whether or not the alternator is mounted, and this is indicative of something inside the alternator, probably a bad diode, grounding out and causing the drain?
