Default Aluminum coolant tank, more advice

originally the sight glass was supposed to be on motor side. But the first proto showed up with it on the fender side.

Now I’m thinking that’s the side it should be on. When fillling coolant one is normally on the fender side, side it helps to see the glass.

thoughts?

Visibility is a little tight there. What about next to the jack on the end?

From your pictures looks like it can be seen though. I'd say either way as long as it's pretty easily visible.

It could go on the end, but I was thinking being able to see it while filling coolant at the fender was the best idea.

This is a good idea. This means the sight glass can be mounted relatively higher towards the top, i.e., easier to see the water level. (The sight glass in the current position sits lower as it is inhibited by the top curvature of the tank on that particular side).

Looks good abran. I'd probably prefer the sight glass on the front or opposite side away from the engine.
I've always wanted to get the Allisport model but I see your sight glass is more recessed compared to theirs.

I think I'd be more interested in being able to see it when I first raise the bonnet and not have to walk around. I think putting it in the end of the tank would be okay too.

I like the end or toward the outside for filling. Because on the engine side I agree it would be a PITA to fill to the proper level.

On the end would be better if not on the engine side, it is just easier to see at a glance

Yes sir!

sight glass will be in the front position.

Tank will be sold as a kit:

- Aluminum tank
- Aluminum bleeder T
- 3 40mm black spring clamps for bleeder T
- 1 30mm spring clamp for larger hose connection on underside of tank.
- 2 stainless worm drive clamps for smaller hoses on tank

Production is finishing up now, QC has started, and then packaging. We expect to take delivery at end of Jan.

Still do not have a retail price, just found out that the duty rate to import is 25% now! Ouch...

Goal is to be under $260 for everything shipped, but not sure it can be done. As always we will offer a limited introductory offer to forum members.
