Default Aluminum Expansion Tank?

Has anyone replaced the plastic coolant expansion tank with an aluminum version? I'm on my second cracked tank since October 2018, and this is just getting ridiculous. I'd appreciate some input before I spend the money...I can't find an aluminum version from a "reputable" LR parts dealer, which makes me wonder if I'm going down the wrong path. Thanks in advance!

You are on the right path just looking in the wrong places.
This is the tank you want from abran....

I saw the AliSport one on eBay not long ago, well worth searching alu header tank on there to see what you find.

I’ve always wanted the AliSport tank but Abran’s tank is better quality for the price.

Perfect! Thanks for the advice. The tank I have is covered by a warranty, which will give me time to save my pennies. The alloy version isn't cheap, but if I'm replacing the plastic one every 3-4 months, it'll pay for itself in a year! I appreciate the input by all.

What do you mean you're replacing them every few months? Plastic has it's limits for sure. Alluminum is definitely a great update. But if you're having pressurization issues, it's just going to blow out the next weak link.

They shouldn't fail like that if you're buying new ones.

Yeah.. even on my old old Disco 2s I've never EVER replaced an expansion tank.

I've also had a HG last almost 200k miles.

I must be doing something right.

Like BMW blue coolant and constant maintenance and 180f stat.
