Default Another probable head gasket, I hope thats all

I just cant win, The hose going from the upper manifold to the expansion chamber is blowing bubbles in the expansion chamber, like the red headed step child blowing bubbles in his milk before he gets wacked. I tried some radiator stop leak K-something in a blue bottle to no avail. Ordered up the head gasket, here I friggin go, but I might get it all back together and have a slipped sleave. If thats the case I have an LT1 sitting in the garage and 5 grand to try to get it to work in the Disco. Am I making a bad, bad decision, again?

The stop-leak was a phenomenally bad decision.

At the line from the throttle body heater is supposed to churn the water in the reservoir...

Do you actually have some temp readings to suggest a head gasket or do you just feel like pulling the motor apart? Lol.

The temp is fine if it holds water, but the pressure in the system is so high that it will blow a hose off. They bypassed the throttle body and linked it together at the throttle body.

Somebody replaced the engine before i bought it 2 weeks ago Some of the lines were not correct and they gutted the thermostat. , The body and interior are so nice, I dont want to get rid of it, but I need a vehicle too.

Sounds like a cobble job to me, nothing like a frozen throttle plate to wake you up. Do you have a trans to go with that LT1?

Well you have a few choices:

1. Bail

2. Drive this one and build the other motor and swap it in. I would replace the rad, heater core, all hoses and expansion tank since you put that k seal in it

3. Say F-it and stuff LT1 in there

Really though with the cob job someone did to sell it because it was over heating I would be looking for the heart of the issue so you can be sure to fix that. Toss a Chevy in sounds tempting until you start looking at getting it to play nice with the dash board.

Coolant does circulate into the resovoir. Pressure cap ok? Maybe pick up an exhaust coolant test kit at a local auto parts store.

You can smell exhaust in the coolant. I tried to post a pic, but I got into the head and it looks like at the back of the engine it was leaking from the last cylinder to the coolent duct
