I may even pull the engine to make it easier, and be able to replace cam bearings/cam easily
It looks like the rear main seal has started to leak now.
The transfer case has been leaking, and I have a rebuild kit for it. But, front crossmember bolts need drilled out first.
I still have a miss, but a mass air code now instead of Fault 108.
And it continues. This whole project has snowballed.
The hardest part for me to understand is;
Why do I still like this thing so much!?

I think if rover v8's were as prevalent on the used market as small block chevy's are, nobody would get sick about the fact that their factory motor was having issues.
Everyone could just pick up a junk motor for $100, spend a couple of months putting it together on a stand, and swap it in a weekend.
Best case scenario for a rover is you have to buy a whole vehicle, spend the time pulling the motor out of that one, try to recoup your money by parting out the doner, etc. Worst case is $7000 to Turner for a crate engine. I've been looking for a cross bolt block for months, can't find a single one that's either close enough to pick up, or cheap enough to have shipped.

Just wanted to give everyone an update.
Chris, RoverMasterTech, was able to pin my slipped liner from the outside (2 Cylinders) and he did a beautiful job. He used 2 giant bolts on each cylinder. My regular Land Rover mechanic said they look like they will last the life of the truck. So far it’s been about 1,000 miles and working beautifully. So far not one drop coolant used. The ‘03 Land Rover V8 was never that balanced and smooth, but at least I can use the drive thru and underground parking now. It was basically a jackhammer before, mine slipped liner was particularly bad and started at 140 degrees. Chris figures the engine itself still has a lot of life left. I love this truck and the retro styling.
Thanks everyone, especially RoverMasterTech.

sorry, meant to post this on the other thread I started but I guess this is just as relevant here.
