Guys I had my heads and pressure tested and my freeze plug did not leak. They said they can not do the test with the heads at full engine temp so I had them go ahead and replace them.

While I can get to things with the heads off are there any other places I should look for leaks? I am bummed that I have not found what I would call a smoking gun. The water pump is dry.

Thanks guys I changed the heater plate a few weeks before I pulled the heads. It was leaking but did not fix my problem.

There is coolant that runs threw the front cover? I will check.

 

That is how it gets to the water pump.

 

Valley pan gasket.
Which will need to be replaced since the heads are off anyway.
