Default anyone found a decent bottle jack that fits in the original spot?

I never got a jack, or lug wrench with my 03 D2. I bought a Walmart compact floor jack in a plastic case and carry it and a breaker bar and socket. Thinking I would like to find a bottle jack that fits in the original spot. Anyone found one?

Torin 2 ton was a perfect fit and works with the strap.

Did you guys check that it will actually lift the tire off the ground? The original jack is two stages, and some bottle jacks are not, so just make sure it's got enough extension that you aren't hunting down a 2x4 next time you have a flat on the highway

My replacement jack is a pretty small one and no, it will not lift the tire off the ground by itself. That's why I keep a 10" 2x6 standing up to the outboard side of the battery.

I don't like the fact that aftermarket jacks don't have the saddle at the top of the shaft like the factory jack has. I've seen threads about guys fabricating something but I think it required welding so I haven't bothered. A lot of you guys have welders so go for it.

And for the OP, Paul Grant and others sometimes have original LR jacks for sale but they have such a high failure rate I decided to go with aftermarket. I tried to repair my factory jack and gave up.

From my experience, the D2 jack does have a much higher failure rate than the earlier ones found in DI's and RRC's. I don't know why but I throw away a lot of non functioning D2 jacks (about 25%). It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother trying to add hydraulic jack oil before I toss them. They're just bad and it's a shame because they definitely extend better than most jacks you'll find and have the benefit of the curved saddle REDROVER mentioned.

My jack I got on amazon. It's got a top that threads out and it will lift the tire off the ground easily.

IMO, the engine compartment heat fries them. Store it in one of the rear storage bins.

I agree that's a better place for the jack but my 7-seat truck doesn't have the rear storage bins.
