I used to have a 2003 SE with dual sun roofs and like previous members have said it makes the roof more rigid but the damn thing leaked. i got rid of it cuz the vin # was in the bad "oil pump failure" range and never got to this forum in time to learn about the sun roof drain tubes! haha
Now my 2003 S model doesnt have any sunroofs and it can be VERY flimsy with a single touch of one finger!! I am going to put a rack in the future.
Having driven both types I cant say that with the sunroofs closed, interior noise levels weren't any louder than mine without sun roofs.... until you open them of course!
I do miss the sunlight though.... maybe i'll make my own sunroofs!!! j/k

I have a 97 SD thatcame without sunroofs. I put one in it.It's quite a job but the headliner was sagging badly and r/r on that is half the job. You have to install a sunroof ECU and the associated cables from a "donor disco." I made a template out of 3mm MDF and checked it at least a dozen times. Those that say measure twice and cut once aren't putting a big hole in their favorite ride. If they have extra supports on a factory install I don't kno where they'd go. There isn't much room left at least front to back. We sure like having it in there. Marv
