Default Anyone have Hawkeye firmware upload cable to rent me?

I need to rent Hawkeye update cable, BA5079, if I can find someone to rent one to me for a day, so I can update my Hawkeye (I have update cd disc, and everything else to get the job done). Naturally, I would pay to return cable, and pay shipping to me; pay rental fee, so if you have one that you would rent me, please let me know---I am in Oregon, 97032. Best, Jack

Is that a simple Serial to USB adapter cable? I guess without asking them, it'd be hard to tell if they modified it in any way...

I wouldn't have a clue. A special "update" cable is sold by makers, to link Hawkeye diagnostic scanner to Rover obd2 port; "update" cable has a port for usb cable, to run to laptop computer to upload firmware from cd disc, and another port for stand alone power, if needed. "Update" cable sells for around $50. Would be nice to make one, if I had the knowledge to do so. I have extensive background in electronics, having done radio/television repair since the 1960s, along with numerous other electronic work. I am sure that I would wire together an "update" cable for way less then the price of that cable, $50, but I would, of course, need wiring details of update cable.

I THINK when I plugged it in that it showed up as a USB serial port. But the port on the hawkeye isn't a standard 9 or 25 pin. Someone would need to verify the pin out. The adapter also had pass through for the standard obd cable.

This seems cheap enough. You would likely spend about $25 to rent and ship a cable back and forth. This is around $32 US. Although, shipping might be a bit.

Best UK price I found was $30.16 for update cable; with shipping cost was $46.22. USA price was $49.95 plus shipping, along with 3 to 6 week wait, so they can order from UK.
